Suitable for use in conjunction with a GPS receiver or other APRS program that supports static maps, this program can download bitmap tiles from Google Street or Satellite maps, Bing Birdseye Maps and Yahoo Road and Satellite maps. These can be combined into a seamless map for offline use.

A simple, easy to use interface enables you to specify the source of your map images. The "Maps type:" pull-down also allows the program to save the image settings in a named file. This is useful for downloading maps that may require some trial & error "tweaking" to bring them into precise alignment with the underlying latitude/longitude coordinates of your system.

Each downloaded tile is a square of 256x256 pixels. The actual number of tiles downloaded will depend on the resolution requested; downloading a county-sized area at street-level resolution, for example, could result in hundreds or thousands of downloaded images. When complete, the downloaded images will be displayed by the program in a viewport window. Unlike most other tile-based map programs, the images captured by this program are not downsampled into an illegible blur for display.

This program is available for free download with limited functionality as shareware for Windows. However, it is recommended that you purchase a license to unlock the full feature set.
